Does God Want Me Healed?

Understanding Divine Healing

Divine healing is a central part of our redemption through Jesus Christ. To receive this healing, we need to firmly believe that it is God’s will to heal us. These healing scriptures will build your faith and help you understand that God has already provided and paid for your healing.

Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

God’s Word is health to your flesh! The Hebrew word for health, “marpe,” also means cure, healing, remedy, sound, and medicine. This means that God’s Word is like medicine for us, designed to make us sound and healed.

Psalm 107:20 (KJV) He sent His Word and healed them . . . .

Jesus was the Word made flesh (John 1:14). He perfectly demonstrated what the Word of God can do. Jesus never refused to heal anyone who came to Him. Coming to God’s Word is like coming to Jesus Himself. Just like a doctor’s prescription, God’s Medicine (His Word) must be taken internally to bring about healing.

God’s Medicine for Healing

There are many scriptures in the Bible that act as divine medicine for specific ailments. Here are some resources you can use:

How to Use Scriptures on Healing

To activate the healing power of God’s Word, you need to speak it out loud.

Proverbs 12:18 (KJV) . . . the tongue of the wise is health.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) Death and life are in the power of the tongue . . . .

In the parable of the sower (Mark 4:14), Jesus explains that God’s Word is like a seed. The law of seed is that it has the ability to reproduce itself. When you speak God’s Word, you plant it in your spirit, which will then send the divine healing power of God to the part of your body that is sick or diseased, bringing healing.

Romans 8:11 (WAY) He who raised the Messiah Jesus from the dead will thrill with a new life your very bodies – those mortal bodies of yours – by the Agency of his own Spirit, which now has its home in you.

When you take God’s medicine (the Word), the Holy Spirit uses it to bring life to the part of your body that needs healing. Life destroys sickness and disease.

Steps to Take God’s Medicine

  1. Find Healing Scriptures: Choose scriptures that resonate with you. For example: Psalm 103:2-3 (KJV) Bless the Lord O my soul, and forget not all his benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.
  2. Read and Meditate: Read the chosen scripture over and over until you understand what it means personally to you.
  3. Speak It Out Loud: Mutter the scripture to yourself out loud, allowing it to take root in your heart and mind.

Example: “I bless you, Lord, with all my soul – I thank You for ALL your benefits – You have forgiven ALL my iniquities and all my sin, and healed ALL, ALL, ALL my diseases. I thank You, Father, that You sent Your Word to heal. Your Word says you heal ALL my diseases. I thank You, Father, Your Word is causing health to come to my physical body. I thank You, Father, that healing is a benefit of our covenant. I will not forget your benefits; you forgave my sin and healed my diseases!”

Consistency is Key

Repeat this process until the healing is complete. Do not take just one dose and quit. You cannot overdose on God’s Word. Find scriptures that mean something special to you, follow the directions on taking “God’s Medicine,” and give it time to work. Your body has no choice; it must respond to the Word!
