Christ The Healer Part 3

Christ The Healer Part 3

The Grace/Healing Exchange

1 John 3:21-22 (NIV) Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask.

The church has faith for healing! How many believe God can open blind eyes? Make the deaf hear? And the lame walk? Heal cancer? Heal Diabetes? So our problem isn’t faith. Our problem is confidence. We second guess if he will do it for me.

  • Sin=Death
  • Grace=Life

Titus 2:11 (WEY) For the grace of God has displayed itself with healing power to all mankind.

Romans 5:20-21 (JOHN) The rules were given to make us more acutely aware of the misdirection of our lives, but no matter how great our misdirection and frustration, the unconditional love [grace] of God is always greater. That means that where sin and death . . . ruled our existence in the past, now the unconditional love [grace] of God will rule through right relationships [forgiveness] to the ultimate fulfillment of life through Jesus Christ.

Luke 5:17-25 (NIV) They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven . . . .” 24 So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.

We don’t question can God heal. We question will God heal me. Then we focus on all our shortcomings, instead of focusing on God’s amazing love and grace.

1 Peter 2:24 (CEB) It was certainly our sickness that he carried, and our sufferings that he bore, but we thought him afflicted, struck down by God and tormented. He was pierced because of our rebellions and crushed because of our crimes. He bore the punishment that made us whole; by his wounds we are healed.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (TLB) For God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s righteousness into us!

  • Jesus takes our sin and gives us His righteousness.
  • Jesus takes our sickness and gives us His healing.
  • Jesus takes our curse and gives us His blessings.

Galatians 3:13-14 (DEAF) The law put a curse on us. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us. Christ put himself under that curse . . . Christ did this so that God’s blessing could be given to all people . . . .

Colossians 1:12-13 (NIV) Give joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Hebrews 6:12 (NIV) Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

Matthew 8:2-3 (TPT) Suddenly, a leper walked up to Jesus and threw himself down before him in worship and said, “Lord, you have the power to heal me . . . if you really want to.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the leper and said, “Of course I want to heal you—be healed!” And instantly, all signs of leprosy disappeared!

1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV) This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
