Faith in the Final Outcome

Faith in the Final Outcome

Jesus never promised us an easy life.

John 16:33 (AMP) [Jesus said] I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.

When we go through hard times, we must place our faith in the final outcome.

Psalm 34:19 (AMP) Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But [in the end] the Lord rescues him from them all.

Everybody living in this world will experience hardships and perplexing circumstances.

1 Peter 5:8-10 (NLT) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. [But] In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

God why don’t you just step in and intervene right now!

Psalm 112:4 (VOICE) When life is dark, a light will shine.

. . . Light shines on the pathway of honest men to guide them in the dark. – CW

We’re often so focused on the dark (the hard time/perplexing circumstance) that we miss the light God is shining to guide us out.

Matthew 27:46 (NIV) Jesus cried out in a loud voice . . . “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Jesus, in this fallen world, felt the same way! There’s nothing wrong with feeling like this. We just can’t stay like this.

Psalms 13:1-6 (NLT) O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall. But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.

How does God restore the sparkle of your eyes?

  • I trust in your unfailing love – faith.
  • I will rejoice because you have rescued me – hope.
  • I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me – love.

Life gets dark when we loose our faith, hope, and love.

John 12:46 (NCV) I have come as light into the world so that whoever believes [faith] in me would not stay in darkness.

Ephesians 1:18 (VOICE) Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace.

2 Corinthians 4:6 (NIV) God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ [love].

Psalm 112:6 (NIV) Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
