God Of All Seasons Part 2

THE SEASONS OF LIFE

God gives us specific instructions on what to do in each season of life.

Summer – Everything is going right – PRAISE

Psalm 13:6 (NIV) I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.

Psalm 150 (NIV) Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.

2 Chronicles 6:4 (NIV) Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hands has fulfilled what he promised.

James 5:13 (NIV) Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

1 Chronicles 16:8 (NIV) Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

Praise is not taking credit for the good things in your life, it’s giving the credit to the One Who deserves it!

  • If you want blessings to stop, steal the credit!
  • If you want blessings to continue, give honor and glory to God!
Fall – Things start dying – PRAYER

James 5:13, 16 (NIV) Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray . . . . The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Romans 12:12 (NIV) Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Philippians 4:6 (NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Daniel 9:3 (NIV) I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

Winter – Everything is falling apart – WORSHIP

The #1 reason things fall apart is because we start worshiping the wrong things.

2 Kings 17:35 (NIV) When the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites, he commanded them: “Do not worship any other gods or bow down to them, serve them or sacrifice to them.”

Worship is about sacrificing, serving, and surrender.

Judges 10:13-14 (NIV) You have forsaken me and served other gods, so I will no longer save you. Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you when you are in trouble!

Psalm 95:6 (NIV) Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Spring – Things start living – BIBLE STUDY

Matthew 7:24 (NIV) Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Hebrews 1:3 (NIV) The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
