Heart Treasure Part 1

Heart Treasure Part 1

UNDERSTANDING SPIRIT, SOUL, & BODY

Matthew 12:35 (NKJV) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

  • GOOD – Empowered by God in life, through faith.
  • EVIL – Toiling alone in misery, through distrust.
  • TREASURE – The thoughts we store up in our heart.

Matthew 12:35 (DEL) A man is empowered by God because of the faith-filled thoughts he has been storing up in his heart, he will produce good things, but a man who toils alone because of the thoughts of distrust he has been storing up in his heart, will produce evil things: misery, heartache, and pain.

Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Man is comprised of three parts: spirit, soul, and body.

  • SPIRIT – Your source of life. The place God lives.
  • SOUL – Your mind, will, and emotions.
  • BODY – Your earth suit. The five senses.

1 Peter 3:3-5 (LDB) Don’t let your main concern be your outward beauty . . . . Let your true beauty be the inner glow from the person you really are in your heart.

Ephesians 3:16-17 (NKJV) [I pray for you] to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. The storehouse of your heart determines the quality of your life.

To understand why the heart is so important, you have to understand the FALL OF MAN.

Ephesians 4:23 (NKJV) Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

. . . Renew your hearts each day. – CW

Matthew 22:37 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

Whatever captures your heart captures your life.

Proverbs 14:14 (NKJV) The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, but a good man will be satisfied from above.

  • We fill our heart by spending time with God.
  • We fill our heart by praying in the Holy Spirit.
