Pentecost Part 3

THE NEW TESTAMENT TABERNACLE OF WITNESS

Numbers 11:29 (NLT) Moses replied . . . “I wish that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit upon them all!”

Acts 1:8 (GNT) When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me . . . . to the ends of the earth.

In the Old Testament God had the “Tabernacle of Witness.” The Tabernacle was where God’s “Presence” resided. Prayer, offered at the Tabernacle, had answers following.

Exodus 25:8 (ERV) The people will build a holy place for me. Then I can live among them.

God’s greatest desire is a people who want to know Him—not know of Him—experience, apprehend, and encounter Him.

Philippians 3:7-15 (NKJV) What things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind.

What the Tabernacle of Witness was in the Old Testament, the believer is in the New Testament. The Tabernacle of Witness contained God’s Presence and Power 24 hours a day, every single day!

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

You are a container of the ever-present miraculous power of God. You are the Temple of the Living God! The purpose of Pentecost was to make man a 24 hour miracle working, evidence producing, supernatural being that performs miracles that confirms and substantiates the Gospel! Why? So you could experience God. But also, so that you could bring God to others!

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV) Unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.

Daniel 2:31-44 (NKJV) “You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome . . . . You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces . . . . the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth . . . . a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all the kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Psalm 2:8 (NIRV) Ask me, and I will give the nations to you. All nations on earth will belong to you.

You and I, through the power of the Holy Spirit, can help fill the earth with the knowledge of the Lord; until every nation becomes a Christian nation!
