The Armor of God Part 5

The Armor of God Part 5

Ephesians 6:11-17 (NIV) Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

  1. Helmet of Salvation—restores our image of God.
  2. Breastplate of Righteousness—restores our image of self.
  3. Belt of Truth—restores our image of others.
  4. Sandals of Peace—restores the world.
  5. Shield of Faith—restores rest.

Hebrews 4:2-3 (KJV) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest.

Our faith will cause our heart to be at rest, or to be restless. Let’s define what the Shield is! The Shield is NOT faith.

Genesis 15:1 (NIV) The word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

Deuteronomy 33:12 (NIV) Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.

. . . He protects him day after day . . . – CJB

. . . God surrounds him with his loving care, and preserves him from every harm. – TLB

God is the shield. The reason we are at rest is because our faith is in the shielding power of God.

2 Samuel 22:3 (NIV) My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior.

2 Samuel 22:31 (NIV) As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.

Psalm 3:3 (NIV) But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

Psalm 5:12 (NIV) Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

The shield is God, as I place my faith in God I am shielded.

Psalm 28:7 (NIV) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

Psalm 91:4 (NIV) He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

1 Peter 1:5 (ICB) God’s power protects you through your faith, and it keeps you safe until your salvation comes.

Psalm 84:9 (NIV) Look on our shield, O God; look with favor on your anointed one.

Jesus is your shield—that’s why He died for you—to shield you!

Praise God! For the gift of this message. I learned that God was shielding Job because of him. The shield of God surrounds me. Wow! If you don’t see victory in your own life, you won’t see it in others. The video it good but you needed to be there to feel & receive the “anointing” that is on this message.

Yes, God was even shielding Job’s children because of Job. That’s powerful!
