When Jesus Says Thank You
I want to thank those who are investing their time, talents, and treasure to help expand the kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is the realm in which God’s will is fulfilled. Today, I’m saying, “Thank You,” but one day you’ll hear Jesus Himself say, “Thank You!”
1 Timothy 6:18-19 (AMP) [Charge them] to do good, to be rich in good works, to be liberal and generous of heart, ready to share [with others], In this way laying up for themselves [the riches that endure forever as] a good foundation for the future, so that they may grasp that which is life indeed.
. . . they will be saving a treasure for themselves in heaven. That treasure will be a strong foundation. Their future life can be built on that treasure. Then they will be able to have the life that is true life. – ICB
. . . it’s like putting money in the bank of heaven where it will never be devalued. – CW
What puts money in the bank of Heaven?
- Our good works.
- Our generosity
- Our willingness to share.
- Our willingness to communicate. – KJV
Helping people is how we store up treasure for our future life.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV) Encourage one another and build each other up.
Matthew 16:27 (NIV) The Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
Revelation 22:12 (NKJV) Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
We’re not saved by works, but we are rewarded for them.
Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them.
God has something He wants everyone to do that will help other people.
Jesus rewards us with
- Mansions (John 14:2)
- Thrones (Revelation 20:4)
- Crown of Life (James 1:12)
- Tree of Life (Revelation 2:7)
- Hidden Manna (Revelation 2:17)
- Power over Nations (Revelation 2:26)
- White Garments (Revelation 3:5)
- Share Jesus’s Throne (Revelation 3:21)
- Inherit ALL God’s Promises (Revelation 21:7)
Mark 10:31 (ERV) Many people who have the highest place now will have the lowest place in the future. And the people who have the lowest place now will have the highest place then.
I want to thank those who are building up the body of Christ. But my “thanks” will pale in comparison to the day Jesus says, “Thank You!”
